This hotel has a prime central location on the corner of North Bridge and Princes Street. The railway station is less than a 2 minute walk and the Castle and the Royal Mile are just a short stroll. A fantastic location !
The hotel is very luxurious and in very good condition, ideal for any client. The history surrounding the building and the hotels reputation ensure that standards are kept extremely high. (KB 05/2008)
The rooms vary in size from medium to large and are kept in very good condition. Bathrooms are also kept in very good condition, also each room is individually designed and no two rooms are alike. They are elegantly furnished keeping in touch with the Edwardian theme. The bathrooms are large, bright and marbled. The modern, recently refurbished rooms have a traditional feel, but are extremely well equipped with stunning furnishings.
The hotel has a brasserie and grill room, both are very large. The brasserie is spacious with plenty of room around each table. The grill room is more sophisticated with leather seats. The modern furnishing is very well co- ordinated.
If you've never seen it, Edinburgh Castle is one of the finest castles in the world, and is truly one of the best things to do in Edinburgh. Sitting at the highest point in the old town Edinburgh castle has lorded it over the city for hundreds of years. Walk up the Royal Mile (High St) to get to soak up the feeling of history as you approach the castle. The views from all round the castle across Edinburgh are spectacular. The Scottish Crown Jewels are displayed in Edinburgh Castle, and there is a massive war memorial inside that can be very moving when you see all the names of men who have lost their life fighting for their country.
