The Maison Dupuy is located in the French Quarter; in the original seven square blocks along the Mississippi River know as the "Vieux Carré" or the Old Square.

The Maison Dupuy is built on the site of the nation's first cotton pressbuilt in 1602 and was eventually purchased by the Dupuy family as their residence. Thus, the name Maison Dupuy. The hotel is based around an inner courtyard with an outdoor swimming pool, heated in winter.
