Retro Room
247 - "The retro room" from 1974
The room where time stands still
It was a bright, sunny day and the renovation work on the hotel rooms was almost complete. The workmen started to dust themselves down, pack their brushes and tools and prepare to head for home. But when the protective plastic sheeting was later removed from the walls, we were somewhat surprised. Room number 247 had not been renovated! Located as it is at the very end of the corridor, it had quite simply been forgotten.
Today, room 247 has undergone a facelift. By respecting the carefully preserved original furnishings, we have recreated a 70's feel, but with a more eccentric and wild expression.
Breakfast includes a cold buffet, small hot dishes, eggs, waffles and seasonal fruit. Coffee with Danish pastries is perhaps not proper nutrition, but is very tasty. We have many kinds of bread to match our various hams, cheeses, etc. The breakfast room is open weekdays 6.30 a.m. - 10.00 a.m., Sundays and holidays, 7.00 a.m. - 11.00 a.m.
Hotel Birger Jarl is both a meeting place and a refuge. The natural centre is our lobby bar, where you can sit and philosophise over a cup of coffee, arrange a meeting before dinner, or chat to other people there. Perhaps you come from the small Swedish town of Eslöv and she comes from Tokyo. The meeting can be memorable.
We serve sandwiches, cakes and drinks of all types in our lobby bar and not forgetting the specially mixed designer drinks of the house.
The lobby bar is open from Monday to Saturday from 7.00 a.m. to midnight and Sundays from 7.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m.
Welcome to our Conservatory for an enjoyable dinner in an undemanding atmosphere. Here we have also placed great emphasis on detail, both as regards furnishing and the dinner service.
