Amsterdam has come to claim its rightful place as one of the world’s culture capitals This achingly hip city is awash with culture – apparent as soon as you step out a clog into one of its picturesque cobbled streets
With stunning architecture a windmill-spotted countryside and fields bursting with summer tulips Amsterdam mixes its eclectic nature with 17th century character to create a place of diversity
Explore the city with its range of top restaurants bars parks and cafes For some of the best central Amsterdam hotels we’d recommend Nh Barbizon Palace Centre and the modern Nh Grand Krasnapolsky When staying in the historic area book a room at
The horseshoe-shaped Dam centre is surrounded by four canals which make for a beautiful stroll or opportunity to take a coffee and watch the world go by There are plenty of cheap cafes to choose from with those serving something a little stronger clearly recognisable
Cycle through the museum quarter where you can marvel at the world’s largest collection of Van Gogh paintings or see where Anne Frank penned her famous diary during World War II
Amsterdam comes alive at night with pretty lights and buzzing bars nestled into winding streets Take a romantic canal cruise or rent a pedal boat to set adrift on your own adventure
Those with reservations about visiting the city’s famous Red Light District need not worry as the area is policed and escorted tours guarantee the safe venture of tourists
The laid-back Dutch attitude complemented by historic buildings and modern attractions make Amsterdam one of the best cities to explore on foot

In a central yet tranquil location between two canals this truly unique, deluxe property is made up of twenty five 17th and 18th Century restored canal houses. Elegant bedrooms, some with wooden beams, are luxuriously and individually decorated in a traditional Dutch style and all have lovely garden, canal or courtyard views. The stylish restaurant is beautifully decorated and although extremely elegant manages to create an informal ambience. In the summer months dining outside in the Pullitzer Hotel Amsterdam's pretty courtyard is also possible. The hotel has its own private jetty and boat which can be hired out to guests. An excellent choice!
