The hotel is situated close to oosterpark and the royal tropical institute, within a short distance of amsterdam's shopping streets and the dapper market. waterloo square, artis zoo and hortus botanicus lie within walking distance. the hotel may easily be reached by car and public transport stops directly before the hotel, allowing quick and convenient access to the historical old town, the rai congress centre, the main train station and schiphol airport.
This hotel comprises 80 rooms. facilities include a reception desk, the 'tropen' café-bar and the 'brasserie schiller' restaurant, which affords wonderful views out over the oosterpark and offers décor that has remained intact since 1912 and combined art nouveau and modern features. the restaurant has a capacity of 80 persons; the bar only 20. further facilities include a wlan access point, complimentary daily papers, ironing equipment, a laundry service, a shoeshine service, airport transfer, medical assistance and a car hire service. the conference centre offers use of 5 spacious rooms with natural light (for 4 to 100 persons). the largest room (indonesia room) has space for 80 persons. in co-operation with the royal tropical institute, larger events may also be catered for. a secure car park is available to those arriving at the hotel by car.
